Katie Jeffrey is a registered and licensed dietitian nutritionist and a Board Certified Specialist in Sports Dietetics (CSSD). She graduated summa cum laude with a B.A. in Sociology from Fairfield University and summa cum laude with a Masters Degree in Nutritional Sciences from the University of Connecticut. She is the founder and CEO of FitNutrition, LLC.

Katie works with clients of all ages and fitness levels to identify and then achieve realistic and attainable food and lifestyle goals that match their unique health, wellness and athletic goals. She specializes in performance nutrition counseling and also enjoys individual nutrition counseling for a variety of health issues including weight loss, high blood pressure and cholesterol, food intolerances or allergies, and diabetes.

As a registered dietitian, Katie determines energy and nutrient needs; teaches sports nutritional concepts, serving sizes, and meal planning to athletes and teams; provides meal plans, basic and/or specific nutrition information to special populations; offers information on mindful eating; works with clients to develop strategies to achieve lifestyle modifications; and, analyzes cafeteria and restaurant menus for schools, athletes and training tables.

Katie is honored to be the sports dietitian for Providence College athletes in Providence, Rhode Island. She is also excited to be working with Tom Allen, sports psychologist, to offer an empowering workshop series called EXCEL that provides scientifically based practical ways to fully optimize one’s athletic performance by learning how to properly fuel one’s body and manage the psychological demands of athletics.

Katie also provides motivational, hands-on and scientifically–based presentations on performance nutrition and a variety of health topics to school-aged children, college students, teachers, business employees, and athletes.

Katie is a writer who is working on a cookbook and the co-author of “Eat What You Love, Love What You Eat for Athletes: A Mindful Eating Program for Sports and Life” with Dr. Michelle May, founder of the Am I Hungry? mindful eating program. She also writes for local newspapers and is a regular contributor to Katie is a consultant for Hall Neighborhood House, Inc. in Bridgeport, CT, Kidds & Co. in North Stonington, CT, and Ledge Light Health District in Groton, CT.

Katie is a licensed Facilitator of the Am I Hungry? ® mindful eating program and a member of the American Dietetic Association, the Connecticut Dietetic Association, SCAN (Sports, Cardiovascular and Wellness Nutritionists), NE (Nutrition Entrepreneurs Private Practice Specialty Group) and CSPDA (Collegiate and Professional Sports Dietitians Associations).
