Every 2 seconds someone in America needs blood.
It takes only about an hour to give blood, and each blood donation can help save up to 3 lives.
The Red Cross is the single largest supplier of blood in the U.S. and must collect 14,000 units of blood each day to meet the needs of:
- Accident and burn victims
- Surgical patients
- Those receiving treatment for leukemia, cancer or sickle cell disease
THE GIFT OF LIFE BEGINS WITH YOU.

“Stop the Bleed” Training
Presented by Ledge Light Health District and American Ambulance
Stop the Bleed is a national awareness campaign and call-to-action, empowering bystanders to help in a bleeding emergency. No matter how rapid the arrival of emergency responders, bystanders will always be first on the scene. A person can die from blood loss within five minutes, so it’s essential to quickly stop the blood loss.
This training will include the “A-B-C’s” of bleeding, how to recognize life-threatening bleeding, and how to stop bleeding. A certificate will be issued upon completion of training requirements.
Training Start Times:
Free to attend. Registration not required.
